ESPAS will provide a unique research environment optimizing the use and development of the best research infrastructures currently available in Europe allowing researchers to address complex science problems that span the communities of ionospheric, plasmaspheric and thermospheric physicists.
The ESPAS infrastructure will be a very useful tool to a wide range of users coming from ionospheric community, magnetospheric community, space weather and space climate communities, geophysics community (mainly those studying lithospheric-ionospheric coupling), thermospheric community, space communications engineering, HF users, satellite operators, navigation and surveillance systems, space agencies that need ionospheric information for the Earth missions (e.g. GOCE, SMOS, and BIOMASS) or for Space Science missions (BEPI COLOMBO, EXOMARS) where accurate ranging is required.
